Home

Just  9 miles west of Manitowoc on Hwy 151, Samantha's was built in 1907 as a tavern and home to the family of William F. Christel, one of the Valders, Wisconsin founders.  Reopened in June of 1991 by Sandy (Samantha)Weidling,  it is beautifully  restored to its original splendor.  The downstairs was converted into two dining areas, separated by intricately scrolled fretwork and carved Doric columns. Remodeling for the cocktail area  retained the original bar and back bar as well as the copper ceiling and hexagonal ceramic tile floor.  The Turn-of-the-Century Banquet
Room seats up to 60 and it is available for private parties and meetings.
As tasteful as the decor may be, Samantha's has become famous for its tasty home-cooked meals and rich desserts.  Homemade supper specialties are served "family style" Wednesday through Sunday.  Dinners feature local specialties, regional favorites and Sandy's own creations.  Complete entrees are served with homemade soup and salad bar, side dishes of sauerkraut, mashed potato dumplings and baked beans.  And we also have a children's menu.
